Unclipped dust wrapper, is rubbed and edgeworn, with a few small chips and some closed tears. ; When this novel was originally published in 1956 it was cut 55% by the publishers. This edition contains the final draft of the novel, with all the missing material included, as prepared by M. M. Kaye.
