A rather scarce US first edition. Clean green cloth binding lightly edgeworn (not worn to boards). Clean interior pages pale yellow, edges a bit darker with a few small soil spots. No binding problems, a nice copy. Price clipped dust wrapper by Mircea Vasiliu browned and edgeworn with some small chips and closed tears. Sunned spine and light soil to what were once white portions of dust wrapper.; A delightful early novel by this author featuring the Hurst family and the beautiful and resourceful Alexandra Bell. Recommended.; "Charm and lightness are the hallmarks
That identify a Cadell
(And in case you've ever wondered
That's pronounced to rhyme with paddle.) "- from a 1953 dust wrapper of 'Crystal Light'. This author recommended by several members of the DE Stevenson email discussion group including Anna B., Shaun L., Carol K., Jane S., and Jerri C. (also of the ATS and Angela Thirkell email discussion group.) Image is actual copy on offer.
