Dust wrapper edgeworn and rubbed with a few chips and closed tears and light soil to white areas.; A humorous fictionalized memoir of five girls growing up, in the 1950's, in a small town in Canada near the US border. Author's note: "If anyone should ask, there is a town on the Canadian side of the Detroit River, much like this, but not exactly. The people who lived there resembled the characters in this book, but not entirely, and in so far as I know, none of them bore the names used here. But are the stories true? Well, yes-and no."
