Faint edgewear and cover creases, no spine creases, a few tiny soil spots to cover, page edges faintly yellow. A nice copy of a now out-of-print edition. ; This epistolary novel was originally published in the UK in the 1930s. It includes 'Golden Days' as does ALL US editions of this novel, no matter the title. (It was also published in the US as 'Mrs. Tim Christie' and in Britain as "Mrs. Tim'. ) 'Golden Days' (the June portion of the diary) was published separately only in Great Britain by Herbert Jenkins, in 1934. Any editions after that have both portions of this wonderful novel. It is the first in the delightful four volume series featuring Mrs. Tim Christie and her family and friends.
; Recommended by Holly H. of the ATS, AT and DES email discussion lists. "This is the first in the series about Mrs. Tim and her family, the diaries of an Officer’s wife, a most amusing chronicle. Hester is an endlessly fascinating woman, fascinating because of her delightful commentaries on everyday life and her special style of finding humor. Her efforts to flee the unwanted attentions of a fabulously wealthy senior officer are pure fun and the beginnings of a true friendship. Keen insight and delightful wit punctuate every page. Even without the enchanting June interlude in the Highlands, this would be a perfect novel." The 'Mrs. Tim' series also recommended by Lyn B., author of the 'I Prefer Reading'
blog and member of the DE Stevenson email discussion group and by Claire author of 'The Captive Reader'
blog. Image is actual copy on offer.
