Venetia, HEYER, Georgette
23 7257 HEYER, Georgette Venetia
Softcover; Mass Market PB Berkley Medallion Books: NY; c1958, 1972; 416 pages Very Good
Published as a Berkley Large-Type edition; type is larger than most mm paperbacks but not truly large print. Spine creases, light edgewear. Pages age browned (seen before in this edition) but clean; none loose. ; Lord Damerel found Venetia to be the most truly engaging and witty female he had encountered in all his thirty-eight years. Venetia knew her neighbor for a gamester, a shocking rake, and a man of sadly character. It was, therefore, particularly provoking to find that given occasion, Damerel could make up his mind to be quite idiotically noble...; 'This book has long been at or near the top of my list,[of books by Heyer] the hero and heroine are both well read and intelligent and share a sense of humor, and I find their dialog to be a delight to read.'- Recommended by Jerri C. of the ATS and DES and AT email discussion groups. "One of my favourite authors."- Lyn B., author of the 'I Prefer Reading' blog and member of the DE Stevenson email discussion group. Image is actual copy on offer.
